This week at Zinng: mobile apps, FAQs & a bug bounty

Here is what we are building at Zinng right now. We are going to start sharing these weekly development updates to keep you in the loop.

Mobile apps (iOS and Android). This is the big one. The prototypes are basically done and internal testing has started. Next up is push notifications, then we will begin inviting a select group of beta testers. To start, the app is focused on your inbox, making it easy to reply to customers from your website chat widget, SMS, or a call transcript, all in one place. Want to be one of the first to try it? Just reach out and we will add you to the beta list.

Outbound calls from the app (coming next). Right after the apps, you will be able to place an outbound call as a human, from your Zinng number, right inside the mobile app.

FAQs and knowledge bases. Many of you coming from Breezy asked for FAQ functionality, and it is on the way. It runs on a knowledge base, a place to load information your AI agent can search instantly during a call. We are also adding a way to view the data you have already uploaded.

AI replies for chat and SMS. We are working toward letting AI respond to your customers over your website chat widget and SMS, not just on calls. Most likely it will be powered by the same AI as your voice agent.

More voices (and voice cloning). We are opening up more of our extended voice library inside the app, giving you a broader, more diverse selection of natural-sounding voices so you can pick one that best fits your brand. Several come straight from customer requests. And a capability a lot of people do not realize we have: we can clone a voice. We recently cloned a custom voice for a customer, and we are working on bringing both the expanded library and voice cloning into the interface. When we add voices for one customer, everyone gets access to them too.

More notification recipients. Right now the post-call summary emails, the recap we send after each call is completed, go to your main account email. Soon you will be able to add additional email addresses, confirm them, and then choose which alerts and notifications each one receives across the platform. Handy when you want a manager, a partner, or your whole front desk to get the summaries too, without sharing a login.

Smarter spam blocking. Today you can block specific numbers from calling your Zinng number. We are exploring a better, longer-term approach: automatically blocking spam callers for you, possibly using a reputation score so known bad actors are stopped before they ever reach you. This one is still in the design and roadmap stage, but it is on our list because nobody likes burning minutes on spam.

Google Reviews widget. By request, a small widget you can embed on your website that keeps your Google reviews and star rating updated in real time. Most likely free on every plan.

Custom tools for your agent. Further out, and this is one of the bigger ideas on our roadmap, we are building the ability for you to create custom tools that your AI agent can call. The way it will most likely work: you provide a small piece of code (Python or JavaScript) that we run securely in an isolated environment whenever the agent needs it, which effectively lets your agent do almost anything. For example, one of our customers has fairly complex pricing that is really just a calculation under the hood. With a custom pricing tool, the agent could run that calculation and quote a caller a live price right on the call. We are sketching out how this will work now, and it is going to expand what the platform can do in a big way. More details coming soon.

A bug bounty, of sorts. We want Zinng to be the most reliable platform out there. Find and report an issue, and we will drop bonus minutes into your account. Exact amount coming soon.

As always, reply or reach out any time with questions or ideas. We build a lot of this based on exactly what you ask for.
