If you got the email that Breezy is winding down, take a breath. Your phone number and your data are safe right now, but there are a few things you need to do before service stops, and the clock matters more than the panic does.
This guide walks you through exactly what is happening, how to export your data, and how to port your phone number out so you do not lose it, all in plain steps. We make an AI phone receptionist of our own (Zinng), and yes, we would love to be where you land. But the porting and export steps below work no matter who you choose next, so we put those first. Do those now; decide on a provider after.
What's happening to Breezy
Breezy (getbreezy.app, the AI front-office product for small service businesses) has announced it is shutting down. Per their official notice, the service will keep running for a short window and then turn off completely, including AI calls, texts, web chat, and the CRM.
It is a genuinely tough thing for any small business to go through, especially if Breezy was answering your phone. The good news: you have time to move, and the two things you most need to protect, your phone number and your data, can both come with you.
The dates that matter
- Service runs through July 25, 2026. After that date, Breezy's AI calls, texts, web chat, and CRM are fully shut down.
- No more charges after June 25, 2026. If you are on a monthly plan, you will not be billed again, and your service stays active through July 25 at no extra cost.
- Annual plans get an automatic prorated refund for the months that will not be served. You do not have to request it.
- Port your number out before July 25, 2026. This is the one with a hard deadline. Once the service is gone, recovering the number becomes far harder, sometimes impossible.
The single most time-sensitive task is the number port, because porting a phone number takes time on the carrier side (often several days, sometimes a couple of weeks). Start it early. Do not wait for the last week of July.
What it means for your number and data
Two things to know up front:
- Your number is portable, but only while Breezy is still live. A phone number can only be ported out while it is active on the losing provider. Keep your Breezy number active until the port completes, do not cancel anything early.
- Data export is handled manually. There is no self-serve "download everything" button. You request your data by email and Breezy's team pulls it for you.
So the move is really two tasks: get your data out, and get your number out. Here is how to do each.
Step 1: Export your data
Email [email protected] and ask for an export of everything you want to keep. Based on Breezy's own guidance, they can provide:
- Your contacts
- Call logs
- Conversation history (calls, texts, chats)
- Any other account data you ask about
They handle these requests case by case, so be specific about what you need and give them a little lead time. Do this early too, you do not want to be chasing an export the week the lights go off.
Step 2: Port your number out
Breezy provisions its phone numbers through Twilio, which makes the port-out straightforward once you know the sequence. Here is exactly how it works:
- Ask Breezy to release your number. Email [email protected] and tell them you want to port your number to a new provider. They will release the number from Twilio.
- Twilio sends you the port-out PIN. Once the number is released, you will receive the port-out PIN (and the account details a new provider needs to pull the number over).
- Start your trial with your new provider and hand off the details. Give your new provider the phone number and the PIN. If that is us, you start your Zinng trial and send us the number and PIN.
- We take over and finish the port. Number porting is our core competency, hosted numbers, carrier porting, 10DLC registration, we do this routinely. Once you hand us the details, we manage the rest and keep you posted until your number is live on Zinng.
Two things that save people a lot of stress:
- Start the port now, not in late July. Carrier ports take time, and the number cannot move after Breezy shuts down.
- Do not cancel your Breezy number before the port completes. The number must stay active to port successfully.
Where to land
You can take your number anywhere. We built Zinng for exactly this kind of business, and after watching a provider disappear on you, a few things probably matter more now than they did a month ago.
A company that will still be here next year
This is the honest one. Breezy was venture-backed and sold a flat unlimited plan, a model that is hard to sustain, and it did not last. Zinng is the opposite by design. We are fully self-funded, with no investors to answer to and no pressure to chase an exit. We are a husband-and-wife founding team, and Zinng grew out of running a real dental office, built for small and medium businesses because we are one. We are not going anywhere.
Built for regulated work
If you are a dental, medical, or other practice handling sensitive information, Zinng is HIPAA compliant and we sign BAAs, something most generalist AI receptionists skip entirely.
Your number, handled for you
We provision and port numbers as a matter of course, so the migration above is something we do with you, not something we hand you a help doc for. Setup is done-for-you on every plan, and most businesses are live and taking calls within minutes of starting.
Works the way you work
Zinng is fully responsive and easy to use on mobile today, and native iOS and Android apps are coming very soon. It connects to thousands of tools through our Zapier and custom integrations, so leads and call data flow straight into the CRM and systems you already use. And we are shipping new features constantly.
Simple, predictable pricing
Plans are sized to your call volume, with no forced upgrades and no overage penalties:
- Essentials, $49/mo, up to 300 minutes, SMS scheduling links, lead capture, transfer to one number.
- Pro, $99/mo (most popular), up to 700 minutes, live on-call scheduling, CRM lead capture, transfers to multiple numbers, two-way SMS, web calls, 3 users.
- Growth, $149/mo, up to 1,000 minutes, plus everything in Pro.
- Scale, $249/mo, up to 2,000 minutes, plus everything in Pro.
- Custom, $349+/mo, tailored package with a dedicated account rep.
Every plan includes done-for-you setup, a 7-day free trial, and no contracts. Want to see how we stack up against the rest of the field too? Read our honest comparison of the best Breezy alternatives.
