Replace "number" with the 10-digit number you're forwarding to. Wireless codes are the standard GSM codes AT&T phones use; AT&T doesn't list them on its wireless support page, so if one fails, see troubleshooting below.
AT&T wireless call forwarding
AT&T says you can only change wireless call forwarding from the phone itself, not online. You can use your phone's settings or dial a code.
iPhone call forwarding on AT&T
Go to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding, turn it on, and enter the number. This forwards every call.

Android call forwarding on AT&T
Open the Phone app, tap the menu, then Settings > Calls (or Supplementary services) > Call forwarding. Many Android phones let you set "when busy," "when unanswered," and "when unreachable" separately. Menu names vary by manufacturer.
AT&T conditional call forwarding
Conditional call forwarding means your phone rings first, and calls only forward when you don't answer, are busy, or have no signal. It's the most useful setup for a business owner.
Dial the code, press Call, and wait a few seconds for the confirmation. AT&T forwards unanswered calls after about five rings by default.
AT&T landline call forwarding codes
For AT&T Phone and U-verse Voice service (home or office lines), AT&T publishes these star codes. Pick up the handset, wait for a dial tone, and dial:

On some lines, you dial the star code, wait for a second dial tone, then dial the number. Listen for the confirmation tone before hanging up.
How to turn off call forwarding on AT&T
- iPhone: Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding, then switch it off.
- Android: Phone app > Settings > Calls > Call forwarding, then disable each option.
- Wireless codes: dial ##21# (all calls), ##61# (no answer), ##67# (busy), or ##002# to cancel every type at once.
- Landline: dial *73# (all), *91# (busy), or *93# (no answer).
What AT&T charges for forwarded calls
According to AT&T, forwarded calls on wireless are billed for the length of the call and may add long-distance or roaming charges. You also can't forward to an international number.
Check your plan for details. Most unlimited US plans cover forwarding to US numbers.
Troubleshooting AT&T call forwarding
- Voicemail stopped working: AT&T says call forwarding overrides your wireless voicemail. That's expected.
- Callers hear a busy signal: the number you forwarded to is busy. AT&T doesn't roll to voicemail in that case.
- A code is rejected: turn off Wi-Fi calling, make sure you have a cellular signal, and try again. Some users report conditional codes not working on newer eSIM phones; AT&T support can enable it on the line.
