Spectrum call forwarding works with star codes you dial from the phone itself: *72 forwards every call, *73 turns it off, and separate codes forward only the calls you miss or the ones that come in while you're on the line.
The codes depend on which Spectrum service you have: a Spectrum home phone, a Spectrum Business Voice line, or Spectrum Mobile. Here's each one, plus how to set it up online, how to turn it off, and what to check when it isn't working.
Spectrum call forwarding codes: the quick answer
| What you want | Home phone | Business Voice | Spectrum Mobile |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forward every call | *72 | *72 | *72 |
| Forward calls you don't answer | *92 | *92 | *71 |
| Forward calls when you're busy | *90 | *90 (see note) | |
| Turn forwarding off | *73, *93, *91 | *73, *93, *91 | *73 |
Each "turn off" code matches its "turn on" code: *73 cancels *72, *93 cancels *92, and *91 cancels *90.
Spectrum home phone call forwarding
To forward every call from a Spectrum Voice home phone, pick up the handset and follow Spectrum's steps:
- Dial *72 and wait for the dial tone.
- Dial the number you want calls to go to, followed by #. Include 1 and the area code if needed.
- Listen for the confirmation tone, then hang up.
While forwarding is on, your home phone gives a short "ring splash" for each call to tell you it's being forwarded. You can't answer calls at home until you turn forwarding off with *73.
Forward only some calls
Spectrum home phone also has conditional forwarding, so the phone can ring at home first:
- Forward when there's no answer: dial *92 to turn it on and *93 to turn it off.
- Forward when the line is busy: dial *90 to turn it on and *91 to turn it off.
- Forward calls from specific numbers: dial *63 to turn it on and *83 to turn it off. Every other caller still rings at home.
Set it up online (and choose the number of rings)
Spectrum home phone now runs on two platforms. If you became a customer after July 28, 2025, or Spectrum told you about a platform change, you manage forwarding in VoiceZone. Otherwise you use Voice Online Manager.
In VoiceZone, sign in to your Spectrum account and select Services > Home Phone > Manage Voice. On the Settings tab, select Edit next to Call Forwarding, then choose the type you want. "Call Forward When No Answer" is where you pick how many times your phone rings before the call moves on.
Two related features are worth knowing about. Simultaneous Ring (*361 on, *362 off) rings several numbers at once instead of forwarding. Backup Phone, on the new platform, sends your calls to another number automatically during a power or service outage.
Spectrum Business Voice call forwarding
Spectrum Business Voice has three types of forwarding, each with its own star code:
- Call Forwarding Always: *72 on, *73 off. Every call goes to the other number.
- Call Forwarding No Answer: *92 on, *93 off. Calls move on only if nobody picks up.
- Call Forwarding Busy: *90 on, *91 off, per Spectrum's printable Business Voice star code guide.
A note on the busy code: Spectrum's Business Voice support page lists *63 and *83 for busy forwarding instead, so the two official sources disagree. If one pair doesn't work on your line, try the other, or use the online portal below, which works either way.
Spectrum's star code guide also says the features have to be activated in the voice portal before the star codes will work. If a code gives you an error, turn forwarding on online first.
Set up Business Voice forwarding online
- Sign in at spectrumbusiness.net and select Services.
- Choose Business Phone, then Manage Voice to open Voice Manager.
- Select the Global Call Settings tab, then Call Forwarding.
- Select Configure next to the phone number you want to forward.
- Turn on Forward All Calls To, Forward Busy Calls To, Forward No Answer Calls To, or a combination, and enter the number for each.
- Select Save.
One thing to watch: after Spectrum redesigned its business phone settings, a customer reported on the Spectrum Community forum that "missed call" forwarding no longer let the office phone ring five times first. A Spectrum moderator said unanswered calls now forward after about four rings. Call your own number once after setting it up to confirm how many times it rings.
Spectrum Mobile call forwarding
On a Spectrum Mobile phone, open the dialer:
- Forward every call: dial *72 plus the 10-digit number, for example *723035550142, then tap Call and wait for the confirmation.
- Forward busy and missed calls: dial *71 plus the 10-digit number, then tap Call.
- Turn it off: dial *73 and tap Call.
You can also do it online: sign in to your Spectrum account or the My Spectrum app, go to Your Services > Mobile, pick the line, and select Call Forwarding. You'll confirm a one-time passcode, then choose "All Incoming Calls" or "Busy Line & Missed Calls". Only the account holder can change it.
Spectrum lists a few limits for mobile:
- Calls can only go to 10-digit US numbers, not international ones.
- With forwarding on, unanswered calls skip your mobile voicemail.
- Text messages aren't forwarded.
How to turn off call forwarding on Spectrum
- Forward-all (any Spectrum service): dial *73 and wait for the confirmation tone.
- No-answer forwarding (home or business): dial *93.
- Busy forwarding (home or business): dial *91.
- Online: switch the forwarding type off in VoiceZone, Voice Online Manager, Voice Manager, or the Call Forwarding page for your mobile line, then save.
Spectrum call forwarding not working?
- The star code does nothing (Business Voice). Turn the feature on in Voice Manager first. Spectrum's guide says portal activation is required before the codes work.
- Busy forwarding won't turn on (Business Voice). Try *63 instead of *90, or set it online.
- Your phone never rings before forwarding. You may have "forward all" on instead of "no answer". Dial *73, then set up *92 (or *71 on mobile).
- You stopped getting calls at all. Forwarding may have been left on. Spectrum's business troubleshooting page says to check that call forwarding isn't active when calls aren't coming in.
- Calls fail when forwarded to Google Voice or another phone system. Spam call blocking or screening on the receiving end can make forwarded calls fail. Turn it off temporarily to test.
- Mobile calls don't arrive. Double-check the 10-digit number you entered, and remember Spectrum Mobile can't forward to international numbers.
- You just moved your number to Spectrum. Spectrum says a newly ported number can have problems for up to 72 hours.
Never miss a customer call on Spectrum
For a business, no-answer forwarding (*92 on a Spectrum business or home line, *71 on Spectrum Mobile) is usually the right setup: your phone rings first, and only the calls you miss move on, instead of going to voicemail.
Forward those calls to Zinng, and an AI receptionist answers every one of them 24/7, captures the caller's details, books appointments, and can transfer urgent callers back to you. You keep your Spectrum number. If a code doesn't take, our call forwarding troubleshooting doc walks through it. On another carrier? See our Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile guides, or our free call forwarding codes tool.
Your phone rings first. Zinng catches the rest.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Spectrum call forwarding code?
Dial *72 and the number to forward every call, and *73 to turn it off. On a Spectrum home phone or Business Voice line, *92 forwards calls you don't answer and *90 forwards calls when you're busy. On Spectrum Mobile, *71 forwards busy and missed calls.
How do I turn on call forwarding on a Spectrum landline?
Pick up the handset, dial *72, wait for the dial tone, dial the number you want calls to go to followed by #, and wait for the confirmation tone. You can also turn it on online in VoiceZone or Voice Online Manager for home phone, or Voice Manager for Spectrum Business.
How do I turn off call forwarding on Spectrum?
Dial *73 to turn off forward-all. Dial *93 to turn off no-answer forwarding and *91 to turn off busy forwarding, or switch forwarding off in your Spectrum account online.
Why isn't my Spectrum call forwarding working?
On Spectrum Business Voice, the feature may need to be activated in Voice Manager before the star codes work. Also check that you entered the full 10-digit number, that the right forwarding type is on, and that spam blocking on the receiving phone isn't rejecting forwarded calls.
Can Spectrum forward calls without ringing my phone first?
Yes. *72 forwards every call without ringing your phone. To have your phone ring first and forward only missed calls, use *92 on a home or business line or *71 on Spectrum Mobile.
