What happens to your number if you cancel

See what happens to your agent, texting and phone numbers when you cancel your subscription, and how to get everything back if you resubscribe in time.

When you cancel your subscription, your numbers are paused first and released later. This gives you time to come back, for example if a payment failed.

  • Your AI phone agents stop answering. Callers hear that you are unable to take their call and should try again later.
  • Texting stops for your team numbers, and they are marked as paused.
  • Nothing is released yet. Your agents stay linked to their numbers.

After a grace period, we check that your subscription is still cancelled. If it is, your numbers are released permanently and you cannot get them back. The grace period is 14 days unless we have set a different length for your account.

Starting a plan again during the grace period cancels the release. Your numbers resume and your agents answer again, with no need to set anything up.

A number you ported to Zinng is not released automatically. Our team reviews it, because moving a number back to another carrier is a process with that carrier. Contact support if you want yours moved.

If you want to keep a number for the future, ask support first. Plan details are on the Subscription page in the app.
